Dr. Frederick Aardema, PhD
Dr. Frederick Aardema is the co-founder of Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) and dedicated to the further development, validation and dissemination of this treatment approach. He is a clinical psychologist, researcher and full professor at the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Montreal. Throughout his career, Dr, Frederick Aardema has published more than a 150 peer reviewed publications, chapters and abstracts. He is on the editorial board of several scientific journals in the field of clinical psychology and is an associate editor for the International Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy. Dr. Frederick Aardema provides individual and group consultation on I-CBT in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Gina Abbondante, MSW, LCSW
Gina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey, where she owns and operates a multi-specialty group private practice. Gina specializes in treating OCD and anxiety disorders in pregnancy and postpartum, and is always striving to learn new ways to better serve this unique population. She uses her lived experience with OCD and Panic Disorder in her advocacy work for maternal mental health, as well as for educating other clinicians. Theresa Chiu, MSSW, LICSW
Theresa is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years’ experience in providing evidence-based treatment to individuals and families. She is the owner of Olympic OCD Services, a private practice in Washington state, and a co-founder of OCD Lived Experience Collective. She played an important role in the dissemination of I-CBT in the United States by creating one of the first weekly I-CBT group consultations for professionals. She has introduced I-CBT to dozens of clinicians, and her lived experience and recovery from OCD offer a valued perspective on effective treatment. David Cooper, MPsych (Clinical)
David is a clinical psychologist with a special interest in treatments for OCD. He works in private practice in Australia and sees clients nationally via telehealth and in person. He uses I-CBT, ERP, ACT and imagery re-scripting, depending on client’s needs and preferences. His PhD thesis explored how to improve treatment for OCD and directly address a fear of possible self in treatment. David has received consultation in I-CBT from Prof. Frederick Aardema. Lucy Grantz, LMFT
Lucy Grantz is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in therapy for adults and teens struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She has lived experience with recovering from the grip of OCD and is committed to helping others and educating clinicians about OCD. Catherine Goldhouse, LICSW, LCSW
Catherine Goldhouse is one of the first trainers in the US and offers a course designed to make I-CBT approachable and meet the needs of a range of learning styles. Catherine acquired her early clinical training at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School’s largest psychiatric affiliate on an inpatient unit in the division of Anxiety and Mood Disorders. Mike Heady is the co-owner and co-director of the Anxiety and Stress Disorders Institute of Maryland (ASDI). He is a faculty member of the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) and for 10-years, he was an adjunct professor of Psychology at McDaniel College. He runs weekly consultation groups for therapists and frequently produce professional webinars, podcasts, and workshops on the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders. Bronwyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing evidence-based treatment to those with OCD and PTSD. Bronwyn believes that therapists should always keep learning which is why she spends a lot of time reading up on emerging treatments, sitting in consultation/training with experts, and learning from her fellow therapists. Dr. Susan Wagner, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in New York and graduate of both the general and pediatric BTTI.. Susan Wagner was awarded her Ph.D. from Columbia University, secured a fellowship at NY Presbyterian-Westchester Division and joined the faculty there.
